A Different Type Of Learning

  • Not everyone learns the same way — and that’s more than okay.
  • Classrooms aren’t for everyone. Some students thrive through practical, hands-on learning.
  • Vocational training helps build confidence while learning through subjects that genuinely interest them.
  • Practical, real-world experience helps students develop valuable skills for their future.
  • A pathway back to mainstream education can be supported where appropriate.
  • Alternative pathways can help students discover a new direction that suits them.
  • Courses are tailored to each student’s individual needs, abilities and interests.
  • Students can work at their own pace, with the support they need throughout their course.
  • Every student is supported every step of the way as they work towards their goals and qualifications.

About the Academy

At Century Training Academy, we understand that every young person learns differently. Our aim is to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where learners can feel comfortable, build confidence and develop skills that will help them move forward.

We focus heavily on practical, hands-on learning, supported by small group sizes and individual guidance from our tutors and support staff.

Alongside our vocational courses, learners can also develop their English and Maths through Functional Skills. Our goal is to help each learner recognise their strengths, achieve meaningful qualifications and prepare for their next step in education, training or employment.

The enrolment process

Our enrolment process is designed to make starting at Century Training Academy as simple and supportive as possible.

  • Referral or Enquiry
A referral is made by a school, local authority, professional or parent/carer, providing us with information about the learner, their needs and the type of provision they are looking for.

  • Review of Information
Our team reviews the referral, including any relevant EHCP, safeguarding or support information, to make sure Century can meet the learner’s needs.

  • Visit & Meet the Team
Where appropriate, the learner is invited to visit Century, meet staff, see the facilities and discuss the courses they are interested in.

  • Placement Agreed
Once everyone is happy that Century is the right fit, the placement, timetable, chosen course and funding arrangements are confirmed.

  • Starting at Century
Learners begin their programme with support from our team to help them settle in, get to know their tutor and become comfortable in their new environment.

  • Initial Enrolment Period
New learners complete an initial six-week period, giving us time to review attendance, engagement, behaviour and whether the placement is meeting their needs.

  • Full Enrolment & Individual Programme
Following a successful initial period, learners are fully enrolled onto their programme and continue working towards their individual vocational, personal and Functional Skills goals.
